About Sandi F Hutchins
Self-taught oil painter, illustrator, designer, seamstress, photographer, gardener... visibly my passion and interests are to create.
Photography in itself, brought an overabundance of images living in our Evergreen State of Washington, which inspired a once greeting card business: Images Northwest - Card Creations.
However, In 2002, a volume of pressed flowers gave an epiphany to create images by scanning flowers instead of pressing or photographing them. Gathering from our woods and gardens, I design images on the glass plate of a flatbed scanner. Macro photography catches beautiful illustration, however, scan-ography is an approach to even deeper depths, color and exquisite detail. (In my opinion)
Amide venues at art shows and gift shops, my greeting card images subsequently became a request to enlarge the prints. Producing enlarged prints assured me, scanography most definitely has the ability to capture exquisite beautiful detail, when during an outdoor garden show...a flower print displayed on easel enticed a honey bee to consistently attempt landing on the flower image!
Privileged to showcase exhibits in both Washington and Oregon State, includes; Restaurant Exhibition, Coffee Shop Gallery, Garden Show Events, presentations at the Master Gardner's Seminars, Carnegie Center Galley, Winery Events, Chamber of Commerce, Garden Gift Shops and an request for wall backdrop to an episode in movie set production. During appearances, requests where made for a website gallery, to host all works; which I'd like to thank Fine Art America for making this display possible sales
It's an honor to showcase nature in a visual splendor of color, shapes, whimsy and grace. Hope you enjoy these images from my woods and gardens and welcome you to return, finding new postings and/or comments and questions.
